Saint Valentin

Valentine's Day is often defined by its commercial allure and lack of sincerity. February 14th is a winter's day when the evening, like the spirit, can go to bed earlier. We still have to come up with a memorable evening, delight our partner who still leaves his things lying around - in short, mark this day as if it were our first meeting.

Remember, it's not that long ago. You know, that meeting so long ago it still feels like a dream. He or She looked at you, dazzled you, captivated you. It's the first time you've ever felt an emotion like this; all the others weren't quite so good. You feel like yourself at last, you shudder at the thought of reunion, you're fascinated by everything the person thinks. These are the joys of "the beginning", as they're nostalgically called.

Maison Le Roux is fond of its beginnings, but equally fond of its "milieu". The routine of someone who knows you by heart, the arguments over sweet butter when you'd expressly said semi-salted, the post-it notes on the fridge, the cheerful mess in the living room, the evenings spent chatting, the planned trips to Brittany to breathe at last, the knowing glances, the ability to listen to the irritations of a complicated day.
